Anita Roth

OFFICE MANAGER

Anita Roth has been working for and with Wolfgang Doell for over 20 years. After her apprenticeship as a state-certified foreign language correspondent and further training as a European secretary, she started at Heidrick & Struggles in May 2000 as an assistant in the Industry Practice. After three years in the executive search environment, she switched to industry and started as Office Manager in a research company of TU Darmstadt/Henkel KGaA. Only after one year, Wolfgang Doell brought her back to his team, which she has supported in various functions since then, including during her parental leave. As Office Manager she takes care of all administrative matters of the entire GAIN team today, is responsible for marketing and database maintenance and as a Project Assistant she supports the consultants in the handling of search mandates.

Rainer Müller

Principal

From Manager to Consultant

In addition to decades of experience in responsible positions in the automotive and general industries, Rainer Müller has also several years of experience in executive search. In this way, he advises our clients holistically and sustainably.

After studying process engineering in Hamburg (1992), his 20-year management career encompassed various sales functions in the manufacturing industry, starting with roles as Sales Engineer, Key Account Manager and Business Development Manager and including sales management functions with global (BTB) responsibility.

His career was interrupted from 2011 to 2015 as a HR consultant in the Executive Search of a renowned German HR consultancy and by the founding of his own company.

Rainer Müller joined GAIN Management Advisors GmbH as a Principal in March 2022. In addition to the regional focus in his home country of Northern Germany, he mainly advises industrial clients on strategic HR management and strategically relevant change processes. The resulting search mandates cover the different functional areas of a company and represent the entire value chain in the form of a holistic solution approach.

Horst Häring

Partner Interim Management

FROM SALES MANAGER TO INTERIM MANAGER

Horst Häring started his career in automotive sales in the Volkswagen Group. After five years in Germany, he went to England as a consultant to a vehicle importer. A brief stopover was a year in Greece and Cyprus.

Then the opportunity arose to take over sales in Asia/Pacific for a well-known vehicle manufacturer as "Sales Manager" and to build and expand this up over the years. This also included personnel development in sales as well as the conception and implementation of comprehensive (intercultural) sales and management training in the region.

After 15 years with the company, he became self-employed in 1996, where he managed well over 30 projects and mandates. From 2007 to 2011 he built up a company in Oman for the GCC region. His main focus was on organizational and management development as well as interim mandates in leading positions. 

Horst Häring has been responsible for the Interim Management service at GAIN Management Advisors GmbH since October 2023.

Thorsten Bach

MANAGING PARTNER

FROM RESEARCH ASSOCIATE TO MANAGING PARTNER

Thorsten Bach advises board members, CEOs and senior managers in Executive Search, Potential Analysis and Career Advisory Services. Centrally from Rhine-Main area, he works for clients in the mechanical and plant engineering, the manufacturing industry, in the construction and real estate business as well as the financial sector. In doing so, he uses his decades of consulting experience, which he has gained at Heidrick & Struggles, Search Partners AG and von Rundstedt since the mid-1990s. In 2017 his career path led him to GAIN Management Advisors GmbH in Kronberg as Managing Director. Today Thorsten is the Managing Partner of GAIN and he looks back on hundreds of search assignments, he placed successfully.

Thorsten is a graduate civil engineer (TU Darmstadt), has a certificate in professional real estate management (IHK) and is a certified user of the “Golden Profiler of Personality (GPOP)”.

Wolfgang Doell

FROM STUDENT TO VISIONARY ENTREPRENEUR

The Managing Partner and founder of GAIN, Wolfgang Doell, has more than 33 years of experience in the search for specialists and executives and has managed more than 600 international and national search mandates in almost all functional areas of the automotive and manufacturing industries.

After completing a degree in business administration in Frankfurt (1986) and a part-time Executive MBA in England (1997), he started his professional career in the marketing department of a publishing company. For the next 14 years, he held various areas of responsibility at Heidrick & Struggles, including as a core member of the Automotive Practice Group and as Managing Director of a wholly owned subsidiary. He then joined Deininger Unternehmensberatung, where he became Managing Director. From 2005 to 2012, he was Managing Partner and co-founder of the German Courland organisation and also acted as a member of the Global Executive Advisory Board.
